We come together because of the Gospel--the person and work of Jesus that restores a broken world to himself. We believe the reflection of Jesus' great work is found in redemptive relationships cultivated in the context of authentic community.
We know this to be true because the first followers devoted themselves to prayer, truths of Jesus, and the work of meeting the needs of their community (Acts 1:6-8; 2:42-47; 1 Cor. 15:1-10). Missio is committed to living out the Gospel with the same intentionality through relationship in missional communities.
What is a missional community?
A family of Christ followers who have been sent into the community to live intentional lives of mission & service together.
Missional communities practice three rhythms:
At Missio we want to know God. By grace He has invited humanity to be in personal relationship with Himself through placing our faith and trust in Jesus Christ - the One who is the way, the truth, and the life. God wants us to know and experience abundant life as His beloved children. Therefore, we desire to live in daily upward relationship with Him - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
In (Be Known)
Just as God exists in a community of three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, so too He calls us to be known in community and to share life with others who know Him personally. At Missio we desire to live in authentic community with God and one another, displaying the reality, power, and goodness of the gospel to each other.
Out (Make Known)
God has 1) created us to be in personal relationship with Him, 2) called us to live in loving relationship with one another, and 3) given us the responsibility to represent Him and make Him known in this world. At Missio, because we know the personal love of God in Jesus Christ, we therefore desire to make Jesus fully known to others around us. We do this by using all of our gifts, talents, time and resources (all of which have been entrusted to us by God) to serve one another, and to reach out to and care for those around us who do not yet know the personal love of Jesus.
